59A work of Taikan depicting his impression of Lake Biwa. He described how beautiful the misty rain was on the lake when he went on the cruise. He applied gold leaf on the back side of the surface to portray the soft light coming into the landscape misted by rain. 　琵琶湖遊覧の際、煙雨の美しさに感激した経験がモチーフとなった作品。雲が山間を流れていく幽玄な光景が水墨の濃淡で描かれている。絹地の裏側から金箔を貼ることで、柔らかな光がさす様子も表現された。完成した作品（再興第4回日本美術院展出品作・熊本県立美術館蔵）は六曲一双で、琵琶湖に浮かぶ沖の白石や鵜などが描かれている。
