48“Isaribi” is the word for a bonfire lit on a fishing boat at night to attract fish. Taikan’s evacuation residence was situated on a steep slope from which he could look down at the sea. At night, fires were lit on squid fishing boats, producing a scene resembling paper lanterns scattered over the ocean. In this work the isaribi floating on the night sea are painted with platinum powder and produce an unusual radiance. A similar work with the same title (owned by the Adachi Art Museum) was shown at the 36th Reorganized Inten exhibition of the Japan Art Institute.34漁いさり火び昭和26（1951）年頃掛軸絹本65.0 × 85.0 cm 漁火とは、夜間、魚を集めるために漁船でたく■火のこと。 疎開先の邸宅は急勾配の斜面にあり、眼下には海を見下ろすことができた。夜はイカ釣り舟が灯をつけて、一面、ほおずき提灯をばらまいたような景色がひろがったという。夜の海に浮かび上がる漁火は白金泥で描かれており、独特の輝きを放っている。同題の類似作品（足立美術館蔵）が再興第36回日本美術院展に出品された。Isaribi (Bonfire for Luring Fish at Night)
