3鞴ふいご祭まつり明治30（1897）年頃掛軸絹本120.0 × 54.5 cm10Bellows is a device for pumping air to start a fire. The “Bellows Festival” is an event held to pray for fire safety by artisans who use fire such as blacksmiths, sword makers, casters, etc. 「鞴ふいご」とは、風をおくる道具のことで、火をおこす際に用いる。鞴祭りは、鍛冶屋や刀工、鋳物師など、火を扱う職人たちが火の安全を祈願する行事で、旧暦の11月8日に催される。参列者に蜜柑を配る風習があり、本作にも、屋根の上から放られる蜜柑を競い合って取ろうとする子供たちの様子が、表情ゆたかに描かれている。Fuigo Matsuri(Bellows Festival)
